Come out, we’re open
The communities of Central NSW are making a heartfelt call for anyone put off by the recent floods to ‘Come Out, Were Open,’ in a campaign encouraging locals to get out and holidaymakers to return and enjoy the region at its greenest.
While some parts of Central NSW have been impacted by flooding, many were not, and most accommodation and businesses across the region are open and ready to welcome people.
Central NSW Joint Organisation launched the ‘Come Out, Were Open’ campaign to encourage people to wrap their arms around local businesses needing the support of visitors this December and January. It includes digital, social media and public relations.
“We’re inviting people to come and do their Christmas shopping and take a short break in one of the most beautiful country destinations in Australia,” said Jenny Bennett, Executive Officer of Central NSW Joint Organisation.
This is about helping each other and shopping locally, Aussies have always been great at supporting those in need.
‘Come Out, Were Open’ encourages people to not cancel or hesitate. Come to Central NSW to enjoy the lush scenery, food and wine, boutique stores, cooling rivers and pick your own from orchards.
“The last few months have been hard for a number of businesses as some travellers have presumed that we’re not open for business, but that couldn’t be more wrong.” said Jenny Bennett.
Millthorpe is home to a number of local businesses covering hospitality, retail, art, accommodation and more. Many stay open over the holiday period however visitors are encouraged to check with individual businesses for changes to their opening hours over the holidays.
