The Millthorpe Night Markets open the greater Orange Winter Fire Festival, and will be held on the opening night of Friday the 6th of August 2021. This year, the Night Markets promise to be bigger and better than ever. The Millthorpe Night Markets is a celebration for the whole family with all proceeds going back to the community. The much anticipated event of the year will bear witness thousands of people flocking to the historical village of Millthorpe on the Friday night of the Orange Winter Fire Festival to celebrate together, with all proceeds going back in to the community.
This year, the Millthorpe Night Markets will have an extended area and play host to the best producers, wine makers and local creators in the region. All set against a chilly Winters’ night, warmed up by fires, smiling faces, fire twirlers, mulled wine, live music and loads of entertainment. A new to the markets this year is the ice skating rink. The Millthorpe ice skating rink will be open from 5pm on Friday night and all weekend. On Friday night, ice skating session times will be limited to 30 minutes and must be booked online via Trybooking. For weekend ice skating, you can buy your tickets online at Trybooking, however session times will be open between 10am and 4pm.
The Millthorpe Night Markets are just the start of what is promising to be one of the biggest Orange Winter Fire Festivals to date. With over thirty events around the region, there is sure to be something for everyone. The Orange Winter Fire Festival is a celebration of the people, places and produce of the region, bringing with it a true country authenticity. This year, the festival incorporates the arts and culture of the region showcasing an exhibition at the Platform Arts Hub in Blayney, a film screening of the story of a local firefighter by the Orange Regional Arts Foundation, and local art pop ups in town. Why not try a new light therapy at the Blu Room, the only one in Australia, right here in Orange. With so much to see and do you can be sure there will be something for all. Bring the whole family along to one of the stunning wineries or venues to warm up and connect around open fires. Enjoy a full program of bonfire events, campfire cooking, char grilled feasts and award winning wine as you gaze into the stars, share drinks and delicious local produce with your chosen few.
